New Year Resolutions!
New - a beginning; to make fresh
Year - a period of time consisting of 365 solar days
Resolution- something that is resolved; the act of determining
Resolved- to deal with successfully, to come to a firm decision about
In 2011, we have a fresh beginning of 365 days to successfully deal with and firmly determine about decisions in our lives. For me, my New Year's Resolution is wrapped up in one thing!
I have determined in the next 365 days there will be...No Excuses!
No excuses to not be accomplishing what I want to do in life...no excuses to not have my body physically where I want it to be...no excuses to not spend more quality time where I need to...no excuses to not have my priorities straight in life...no excuses to not be living every moment in the here and now.
It's time to get up...show up..and make it happen.
I have resolved to stop putting off until tomorrow what I can do today!
If I want to achieve what I know God wants for me in this next year, I have to do my part.
God gives the birds little worms for food but He doesn't just swing by their nest and drop off the worm saying, "Here you go...I made it all nice and easy for you!" He expects the bird to get up...go out..and find that worm.
All He expects us to do is show up...take that first step...keep moving forward. Even if that step is difficult, scary, or unsure, we have to be faithful enough to just GO. Life is about movement. You cannot accomplish anything by standing still or being immobile.
Life is action.
Life is not a spectator sport nor is it as my wise Mamaw would say..."for the faint of heart!"
I'm not saying there aren't times in life we should be still and quiet because there are moments that depend on us stepping back, taking a breath, and rejuvenating our soul.
There is a time for every season under the sun...a time to weep and a time to laugh, a time to mourn and a time to dance, a time to live because there will most definitely be a time to die! So why not start living today in every aspect of the word. If needed, take the time to mourn, cry and grieve. But after a time (why not make it these next 365 days) get up, dust yourself off and go out there with joy to find your worm.
A new year..another chance to do it right..to reassess and reinvent our lives in a way that moves us forward.
In the year 2011 I resolve to:
*pay close attention to my life
*be more focused
*take absolutely nothing for granted
*celebrate something everyday
*give back to others
*do what I need to do in order to make things happen
*be open to all that God has in store for me
*get up and go out to find my wormA year of No Excuses...Bring it on!
