Consistently Inconsistent

My last blog was in's blog is written in June...hence the title...Consistently Inconsistent!! Need I say more...not really, but I will! This seems to be a pattern in my life be it
schedules, exercise, diet, taking vitamins, reading my Bible or even blogging. I seem to be consistent with only one thing and that is being inconsistent. Now I could really beat myself up over this or I could drive myself crazy, which I have done in the past, or I could just accept the way that I am divinely wired and get on down the road.
And speaking of roads, scheduled courses, final destinations...I can quite easily find myself on a detour! Have you ever found yourself going off course or on a detour from where you wanted to go? How do you handle those detours? Ever thought about looking at these detours as...
the scenic route?
My life has most definitely taken a detour in the past 6 months and it has been quite scenic! I have had new roads, sharp curves and steep drop-offs along the way. But wow, what a trip!
As we travel down this road of life, we should remember that the trip is short and maybe we should slow down and take the back roads...stop and stay awhile. In this busy world that we live in, it's hard to get off the fast paced highway to take the less-traveled roads. But when we set our agenda...our schedules...our lists is at that point we experience the beauty of the scenic route! And while we enjoy and bask in the beauty of the scenic route, it is there that we are refreshed and rejuvenated.
A few weeks ago I was vacationing in a quaint little town of Georgia. The surroundings were serene and peaceful. However, there seem to be something interrupting this peacefulness and it turned out to be me. It was several days before I realized something was out of the ordinary...people were strolling not scurrying...leisurely cruising not speeding...and lingering not rushing. Wow, what a unique concept. So, when in Rome do as the Romans do...I stopped and smelled the roses and relished in the scenic route! Walking in the falling rain, watching the sunset behind a majestic mountain, and listening to stories of the towns-people began to replenish my soul. Did lists get accomplished... not really! Did all the chores get completed...nope! Did I finish all that I needed to do...not even close!
Was the scenic route worth it...most definitely!!
So, let's continue and enjoy this road of life that we travel down together. Thank you to those who have urged me back to blogging. Who have allowed me to detour but have encouraged me to climb back in...buckle up...and journey on down this Consistently Inconsistent road of life!!
